Bull Cart Grills and Bull Built In Grills are made with high quality 304 stainless steel, known as the Work Horse Steel or Tool Steel
. This is the same grade of stainless steel used in the construction of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis! The Bull burners are also made of advanced 16 Gauge Stainless Steel.
Stainless Steel Grades
• 202 Series Stainless Steel uses chromium, manganese and nickel alloys. 202 Series has weak corrosion resistance.
• 304 Series Stainless Steel uses chromium and nickel alloys to make it very resistant to corrosion. All Bull grills use 304 Stainless Steel.
• 430 Series Stainless Steel is a cheaper steel that uses more chromium and no nickel. 430 series is not as resistant to corrosion as 304 Grade Stainless Steel.
You may pay a little more for 304 Grade Stainless Steel, but the resistance to corrosion will save you money in the long run.
Stainless Steel Gauges
Lower # Gauge = Thicker in Inches
The most common of Stainless Steel gauges on burners is 20 Gauge (which is 0.38” thick). Bull Grills use 16 Gauge, which is even thicker, at 0.50” thick. Thicker gauges require more stainless steel, which also raises the resistance to corrosion.
